Cheap flights to Corfu with Monarch will Match the Cheap Accommodations There
Corfu sits in the Ionian chain of Greek islands that lie off the north-west coast of mainland Greece and have been a holiday favorite since Victorian times.
Corfu’s tourist popularity, especially with the British, was one of the first of the Greek islands to be “discovered” by cut-rate package tour holiday firms and many of Corfu resorts closed under the pressure. Ancient historical fishing villages were quickly overrun with cheap hotels, followed by happy-hour karaoke bars and neon-lit all-night discos. Corfu had become an embarrassing byword for bar-crawling night life holidays. Fortunately these places were confined to relatively small areas and large parts of Corfu escaped untouched.
Corfu still favours those looking for cheap and cheerful, all-inclusive hotel resorts and cheap flights to Corfu with Monarch, but more tranquil hideaways can still be found to the south and west with exceptional beaches and some incredibly beautiful old scenery. Some of the loveliest beaches and most romantic villages in the whole of Greek islands can still be found all over Corfu and its islands.
The most popular tourist spots for Corfu holidays are still concentrated among the hotel and resort complexes to the north and south of Corfu Town but many Corfu villages, notably those deep within the lush, green interior of the city behind the fort walls, appear to have escaped the holiday hotel boom altogether.
