Naples and its castles
Naples is considered one of the most dynamic and significant cities in southern Italy. Between volcanoes and with a population of approximately one million inhabitants, is the capital of the province with the same name and the region of Campania.
The city possesses a rich cultural and historical tradition, where many traces of great empires like the Greek and Roman, which is reflected primarily in its architecture, making Naples a major tourist options for those who are walk through the beautiful Italy. Its historic center was declared World Heritage by UNESCO and is world renowned for its castles, museums and palaces.
Located on the island of Megaride in Neapolitan coast, we find the Egg Castle, a monument of great historical importance because it is housed in several of the civilizations that dominated the territory, hiding inside the memories of countless battles and engagements . This marvel of architecture is one of the main attractions of the place, and today is used as a museum, which is open to the public.
There are other castles in the city, places to visit “forced” to tourists, such as the New Castle and Capuano. The first is located in an urbanized area currently in the passage to reach the town of Capua. The second, with its five towers that characterize it, in its main campus houses the Civic Museum of Naples.
