Eurovision 2012, this year is sung in Baku
The LVII Festival Song Contest (Eurovision 2012) will take place on days 22, 24 and 26 May in Baku, capital and largest city of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus.
Baku is located on the south coast of the Absheron Peninsula, the city consists of three main parts: the center, the old walled city that extends over an area of ??21.5 hectares and the city built in the Soviet era. Baku is considered one of the oldest and largest cities of the East. Its population in 2009 was estimated at 2 million.
To host Eurovision, the Azeri government wants to build a whole new, the Crystal Hall Baku, which would have a capacity of 23,000 spectators and is expected to be finalized by March 31, 2012.
